Buckler’s Mead Academy appoint new Headteacher

Following the recent interviews for a new Headteacher of the Academy the Directors are delighted to announce that for the 2019-20 academic year Buckler’s Mead Academy will be led by Mark Lawrence, as Acting Headteacher.

Mark has worked at Buckler’s Mead Academy since 2002 and is a very experienced and highly respected Senior Leader.  He has been Deputy Headteacher for the last 2 years following several years as Assistant Headteacher.  In addition Chris Hunt, will join on a part time basis, as Associate Headteacher. Chris Hunt has nine years of headship experience as the former Headteacher of Westfield Academy. The experience of both Mark and Chris will be vital in shaping the future of the academy moving forward.

In response to his appointment, Mark Lawrence has said ‘I am delighted to be given the opportunity to lead Buckler’s Mead Academy into its next phase.  I am extremely proud of  the students, staff and community of Buckler’s Mead and will use my 17 years’ experience of working within the school to drive the Academy forward with passion and integrity as I believe that every student should have the full opportunity to reach their very best.’
