Buckler's Mead Academy has achieved the national quality award for its careers education, information, advice and guidance provision.
It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the Buckler’s Mead Academy website. I have been fortunate to be the Headteacher of this wonderful school since September 2019, during which time we have achieved some incredible things. Most impressively our most recent results, which were the best results in the Academy's history. These results put us among the top performing schools in Somerset, the best performing school within 20 miles, and in the top 10% for most improved schools in the country from 2022 to 2023. I am immensely proud of what the Class of 2023 have achieved, which is down to the hard work and dedication of both students and staff alike and the numerous changes we have implemented in our Academy since September 2019.
In 2021 Ofsted rightly pointed out we had been outward looking in our approach and this has been at the heart of how we have approached our school improvement journey. Looking far and wide for experts to come and guide us in how to be the best we can be. This, alongside our commitment to ‘Sky High Expectations’ and a core vision of ‘An Inspiring Education for All’, mean that our academy is a calm, quiet, respectful and orderly learning environment where young people can thrive.
