Having received glowing praise from Ofsted last year, with the school achieving a strong ‘Good’ in all areas, Buckler’s Mead Academy in Yeovil is once again celebrating some of their best ever GCSE results.
This was a record-breaking year for Buckler’s Mead academy which has seen an increase in the number of students achieving the highest grades in English and Mathematics. Buckler’s Mead also celebrates the best ever results in French, German, Sociology, Child Development and Science.
42% of students achieved Grade 5+ “good passes” in English and Maths and 62% of students achieved Grade 4+ “standard passes” in English and Maths. This is in line with the national average.
“We are incredibly proud of both staff and students following another set of record-breaking results. The Class of 2025 joined Buckler’s Mead in Year 7, when we were still amid covid lockdowns and ‘bubbles’ but have shown a supreme amount of resilience to go from strength to strength. They have played a key role in ensuring Buckler’s Mead achieved a very strong ‘Good’ in last year’s Ofsted inspection and have now recorded some of the best results in the school’s history. On behalf of all the staff who have had the pleasure to work with them, I wish them all the best for what I am sure will be bright and happy futures”

Credit must go to our talented and dedicated teachers who perennially go above and beyond to ensure that our students achieve their potential.”
