Huge congratulations to our Year 11 students on achieving an outstanding set of results—among the best in the history of Buckler's Mead. This success is a direct testament to their extraordinary diligence and perseverance. Beyond their individual academic achievements, this fantastic year group played a vital role in helping our school secure a strong ‘Good’ rating in our latest Ofsted inspection. These results now open the door to exciting future pathways across college, sixth form, and apprenticeships.

This year’s results continue to build on last year’s record breaking outcomes improving in all key areas. The number of students achieving a Standard Pass (4+) in English and Maths, a Good Pass (5+) in English and Maths, Attainment 8 (average grade) and Progress 8* has risen for the second year in a row.

Amongst an outstanding set of results it is worth highlighting a few of the exceptional subject and cohort performances:

• The Science department led the way beating the national average by over a grade and half in a number of their qualifications.

• We also saw well above national average results in Design and Technology, Business Studies and the Creative iMedia qualifications.

• A significant increase in the number of students achieved the top grades in English beating the all time departmental record.

• Our SEND students continued to smash their predictions not only beating the national average, but also delivered our best SEND grades on record.

Every student overcame their own personal hurdles to achieve their results, and we are proud of the whole of our 25/26 Year 11 for achieving what for some may be a very personal success. It is important however to recognise a few of our more exceptional performances:

• Oliver Legg achieved an astounding seven grade 9 GCSEs following this up with grade 8’s in the remaining two. Oliver is looking forward to studying A-level Biology, Mathematics and Sport Science next year.

• Rumaisa Chowdhury gained an amazing five grade 9 GCSEs, a further three grade 8’s and one grade 7.

• Hugo Lotook eleven GCSEs, a significant undertaking gaining five grade 9 GCSEs, five grade 8 GCSEs and a grade 7 he has gone on to study A-Level Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry and Physics

• Daniella Vickers made incredible progress on average three grades above her national expectation, with English literature over 4 grades above, and History just short of 5 grades above.

• Both Charlie-Ann Mitchell and Ruby Baker smashed their GCSEs by exceeding the national expectation by over two grades on average.

• Lilly Parks, whom many will know from our whole-school productions of ‘We Will Rock You’ and ‘Legally Blonde’, achieved strong passes across all of her exams and is looking forward to starting drama school at Bristol Conservatoire.
